How Can We Repair Our Democracy? A conversation with Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA)

Rep. Khanna (D-CA), whose district includes Silicon Valley, is the author of Dignity in a Digital Age: Making Tech Work for All of Us. Rep. Khanna is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and was co-chair of Senator Bernie Sanders's 2020 presidential campaign. Professor Kimberlé Crenshaw calls Dignity in a Digital Age "both a practical and aspirational guide to the future of tech, governance, and equity," and the philosopher Jürgen Habermas says the book is "passionate and inspiring." Nobel laureate in economics Amartya Sen writes in the preface, "Whether we consider the future of America, or of other places, we have reason to be grateful to Ro Khanna." Rep. Khanna is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and was co-chair of Senator Bernie Sanders's 2020 presidential campaign. Professors Olatunde Johnson and Jed Purdy will host the conversation, which will both engage and go beyond the themes of Dignity in a Digital Age to discuss the state of American democracy and what kinds of ideas, effort, and spirit are needed to make it work.
